Being a long time fan of the band RUSH - I thought it was time to bring back some of the very best progressive rock of all time. I have been playing guitar for over 30 years and thought there’s no better band to put all that playing to good use.

I've been known to use up to nine guitars a show to faithfully reproduce the musical stylings of one Alex Lifeson. My rig is a bi-amp setup with a battery of processors, equalizers, maximizers, midi components and compressors pumping through the nice fat sound of Mesa Boogie tube power and two full stereo Marshall Stacks. It weighs a metric ton and requires power in the equivalent of a small city to run properly so it’s name came very naturally: The Death Star.

On the floor I only use a few analog devices; a Jimi Hendrix Cry Baby, Digitech Wammy and a Steve Vai Little Aligator. For bass pedals I use the Roland PK-5 in conjunction with a racked computer for every OB-X patch imaginable. It’s all precisely controlled by the Rocktron Midi Mate. For live overdubbing and various triggered events I use a Roland RC-50 which is a must have for serious guitarist everywhere.

The guitars I use most often live are the Hamer Monaco Super Pro, 80’s Charvel Dinky Active, ’52 Fender Telecaster, Washburn G5-V, a ’74 Ibanez 2402DX (pre-lawsuit), Cordoba Nylon Classical, Breedlove 12 String Acoustic, a Mitchell 12 String Acoustic and a vintage Ovation 11 String Acoustic.
